Great Britain – visa requirements
New visa requirements for the United Kingdom from 2 April 2025
No visa is required as long as the trip does not exceed 180 days. If you are planning a trip lasting more than 180 days, please inform yourself in good time about the different options for obtaining a visa.
From 2 April 2025, travellers will require an electronic entry permit (ETA). This can already be applied for now at the following link:
Alternatively, the official app can be used to apply. The average processing time is approximately three days.
Documents to be carried
- Passport: The travel document must be valid for the entire duration of the stay.
- Flight ticket
- No transit visa is required.
Please make sure that your travel documents are complete, in good condition and have sufficient blank pages. All documents must be presented in the original and must not have been extended, updated or amended by hand. Please note that it is no longer possible to enter the United Kingdom with an ID card.
