Vignettes and tolls in Slovenia

Tolls are charged on all motorways and motorways in Slovenia.

All vehicles, including motorbikes, with a maximum weight of 3.5 tonnes must be equipped with an electronic vignette.

The digital vignette is available online as well as at petrol stations at the border and at Dars offices.

The vignette can be purchased up to 30 days before the first day of validity.

Toll-free alternatives are not recommended under any circumstances.

Apart from the longer journey time, the signposting is often unclear and navigation devices are generally no help. Critical areas such as roundabouts or toll road sections near the motorway are often patrolled by the Slovenian police. Even unintentional toll offences can result in heavy fines.

All vehicles with a gross weight of more than 3.5 tonnes, including motorhomes, use an electronic toll system. The DarsGo transponder is required to pay the toll. It is available at all DARS petrol stations and online.
