Permanent low emission zone
Since January 2022, the entire urban area of Madrid has been declared a low emission zone (Zona de Bajas Emisiones, ZBE). Petrol vehicles with emission standard 0-2, diesel vehicles with emission standard 0-3 and motorbikes with emission standard 0-1 are not allowed to enter the low emission zone. Proof of compliance with the required emission standard during an inspection is sufficient.

For the Centro environmental zone (ZBEDEP Centro), however, proof of the entry permit must be presented on site with prior appointment.
Under “Tramito o Servicio” select the option ZBEDEP Distrito Centro and under “Oficinas” the option SER-ZBE de Especial Proteccion).

Make an appointmentLow emission zone in Barcelona
Monday to Friday from 7.00 am to 8.00 pm.
The low emission zone covers the city area within the ring road Ronda de Dalt (B-20) and Ronda Litoral (B-10) as well as parts of the neighbouring municipalities. The low emission zone is signposted.
The following vehicles are prohibited from driving: Euro 0-2 petrol vehicles, Euro 0-3 diesel vehicles, Euro 0-1 motorbikes.
